    A3:

    A3 PROJEKT SERIES 1.06 Art Print - ILL-TYP - 2023
    Limited Edition of 50 prints

Spanning 35 years, 9 typefaces combined with the 9-colour gamut of 3 Projekt.
By isolating a single letter from each, the focus is on the sculptural quality inherent in the making of a letterform.

    Dark fantasy epic.
I designed the sleeve for Skrillex's 2023 album Quest for Fire, including a typeface made for the project. The cover art shows a figure in a flowing red robe, riding a skeletal, menacing creature through an abstract, otherworldly landscape. The mood was primitive and apocalyptic, with futuristic undertones, so I wanted a typeface that was part ancient, part sci-fi: runic letterforms, familiar yet alien. ILL is the abbreviation Sonny uses for Skrillex, hence ILL-TYP. A typeface from the distant past, or the distant future.
